Senior Tax Accountant
An internationally recognized industry leader is looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to assist with the transition from privately owned enterprise to Publicly Traded company. Office location is in Arlington , VA. This person will be responsible for obtaining and analyzing information necessary to meet the tax accounting and compliance requirements. Working with individuals within the Company as well as outside advisors, the Senior Tax Accountant will be actively involved in the preparation of the tax provision and related disclosures as well as income tax returns. The Senior Tax Accountant will report to the Director of Taxation.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with quarterly and annual FAS 109 financial reporting for domestic and international entities including preparation of effective tax rate, current/deferred income taxes and valuation allowance issues
Assist with preparation of U.S. federal, state income and franchise tax returns, estimates and extensions
Perform tax research and planning regarding various tax issues
Work with Controller's Department to ensure capture of information as required for tax accounting and compliance
Work with Financial Planning & Analysis on tax forecasting and projections
Job Requirements
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
Strong knowledge of tax accounting requirements under U.S. GAAP
Experience with tax research tools
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Experience with Tax Stream a plus
Knowledge of SOX 404 requirements for tax controls
FAS 109 / FIN 48 experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Solid workpaper technique and organizational skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work on multiple projects
Education Requirement
Undergraduate degree in accounting with CPA
