Senior Tax Accountant
Position Requirements:
CPA with 3-5 years of tax experience in public accounting and/or industry.
Proficient with Excel, Microsoft Word, and tax research software. Experience with AS400, Oracle and Vantage tax helpful.
Ability to work and communicate effectively with taxing authorities, consultants and fellow employees.
Ability to schedule workload and work all hours (in the office) necessary to complete responsibilities by due dates.
Cognitive reasoning skills to recognize potential opportunities and issues.
Position Responsibilities:
-Prepare quarterly and year-end income tax provisions including analysis of income and franchise tax accounts, consultation with general office personnel regarding account details, consultation with business units regarding provision information.
-Prepare pro forma federal and state income tax returns.
-Prepare draft responses to audit assessments for income/franchise, sales and use and property tax audits.
-Identify necessary state tax adjustments for all state income/franchise tax returns on an annual basis.
-Prepare apportionment schedules to be utilized in preparing state income tax returns, including sales analysis, property and payroll analysis of all entities.
-Research available state tax credits and compile information necessary to utilize any credits available.
-Calculate and remit federal/state estimated payments on a quarterly basis.
-Gather information from business units and prepare Canadian federal and provincial income tax returns and US forms 5471.
-Prepare local income tax returns, estimated payments and extensions.
-Coordinate the filing of all escheat returns.
