Controller
Description:
General
- Function as a CFO of a business unit with operations in the US and overseas.
- Primary financial leadership responsibility when executing key business initiatives on an international basis. Liaise between Corporate and local management
- Responsible for driving Business Unit financial results, closely monitoring operational / performance milestones and metrics
- Ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and the integrity of the control environment.
- Work at senior management level on complex problems, business processes and organizational issues
- Contribute regularly both at the tactical and strategic levels.
- Full P&L responsibility, balance sheet management, sales development support, business case development and capital appraisal/efficiency/control, business development and turnaround or re-engineering activities, internal controls responsibility
- Manage a significant team of Asst Controllers, Managers and Staff
Specific
- Develop appropriate analytical models to ensure optimal profitability and efficiency of operations and contracts. Recommend corrective actions. Drive improved costing principles in a highly complex environment.
- Prepare/coordinate accurate and timely operating and capital budgets, quarterly forecasts, analysis and trend reports
- Enhance existing reporting package to provide timely decision-making.
- Insure the integrity and accuracy of the Business Unit’s monthly financial statements. Coordinate the preparation, update and analyze monthly trending reports including but not limited to sales, profitability, productivity and accounts receivable.
- Coordinate and review requisitions for fixed asset acquisitions including analysis/justification, approval, track capital expenditure vs. approved budget and forecast.
- Ensure financial books and records are prepared in accordance with GAAP, company policies and local statutory requirements.
- Take a leadership role in Business Development activities (acquisitions and market development opportunities);
Required
- Minimum of 10 years experience in roles requiring increasingly diverse and broad management responsibility, with previous experience of at least 5 years in a Finance leadership role.
- Knowledge of financial modeling techniques required.
- Strong computer skills required
- Effective interpersonal, oral, written and presentation skills, as well as leadership qualities.
- Strong people management and development responsibilities.
- CPA, or internationally equivalent accounting qualification required
- MBA desired
- Able to travel internationally as needed
- Demonstrated process re-engineering or turnaround experience preferred
